I’m Elias, turning 40 this December, and my dream is to reunite with my children and my family. Life took a devastating turn in 2019 when the COVID-19 pandemic destroyed my business and left me in crippling debt. I had 30 employees, but as the world shut down, my company collapsed, and I was stranded abroad for eight months. By the time I returned home, everything I had worked for was gone.

My marriage ended under the pressure of financial ruin, and I was left fighting to stay in my children’s lives. Despite offering everything I had, including our home for their future, legal battles and lies estranged me from them. To survive, I moved to Ukraine to rebuild, only to lose everything again due to war. I then worked in Turkey and now Cyprus, but with €120,000 in debt, I am barely making ends meet.

I haven’t seen my children or parents in over four years. My parents, now over 70, are aging, and my fear of losing them without a reunion grows daily. I work tirelessly, but I need a lifeline to overcome this mountain of debt and reconnect with my loved ones.
