I don’t know what else to do w/ my student loans, please help me

Hello, my name is Alayna and I am a college graduate in need of assistance with paying off my student loans. I graduated with two degrees - Bachelors in Social Work and a Bachelors in American Sign Language. My dream job is to work in the social work field with those who are d/Deaf to provide much-needed services. All my life, I have always wanted to go into a career that helps people, and I pursued degrees to help me achieve those career goals.

However, now that I am done with college, I am facing the cost of my degrees, costs that I didn’t fully understand would be waiting for me.

Being the first person in my family to go to college, there is a lot that I did not know when applying. I didn’t know that private student loans were not the best option. I didn’t know interest accrued every day, even when you are in college. There are a LOT of things I would have done differently; I just didn’t know that there were other options for me out there. I currently owe $250k in private student loans and have had no luck refinancing or consolidating.

I’m looking for help because I feel scared and alone and I don’t know what to do. I feel like my life is slipping away from me and I can’t get it back.

I understand others may look at this and think it distasteful to ask for assistance with paying off loans. However, I’m facing a lot of terrifying financial struggles with these loans and am just trying to look for a way out so that I can further myself in my career that I enjoy so much and so that I can be there for others through helping them in their times of need as well.
