A Father’s Plea for His Three Young Children

Life can change in an instant. One moment, I was providing for my three beautiful children—my 1-year-old daughter, my 3-year-old daughter, and my 5-year-old son—working hard in construction as I had for years. The next, I found myself without a job, without support, and in sole care of my kids after their mother left for someone else.
I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help. But right now, I have no choice. I’m doing everything I can, but the system that was supposed to help has failed me. My previous employer failed to report my hours correctly, causing my unemployment claim to be denied. I’ve filed an appeal, but I was told it could take up to 13 weeks before it’s approved. In the meantime, I have no income and three young children depending on me.
I’m not asking for luxuries—I just need help covering the basics:
Diapers and formula for my 1-year-old
Basic necessities for my kids
Anything that helps us get through this tough time
Even a small act of kindness, a $5 donation, or simply sharing this can make a difference. I do have EBT for food, and I’ve applied for cash benefits, but those take time to process. I’m fighting to get back on my feet, but my children can’t wait 13 weeks for their needs.
If you can spare anything—whether it’s a few dollars, a box of diapers, or simply spreading the word—I can’t tell you how much it would mean. I believe in hard work, responsibility, and perseverance, but even the strongest need a hand sometimes.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, for considering, and for any help you can provide. I will pay this kindness forward one day.
With gratitude,
A father doing his best |
