God bless you for reading this. My company went out of business and I lost my job and health insurance. My son needs braces desperately as his jaw is out of alignment and his teeth are causing speech problems. My son and I both need prescription glasses and they are very expensive, so we have to wait on these. My daughter had to drop out of ballet classes because I could not afford them any longer, but she is healthy.
I found work as a substitute teacher, but have only worked 12 days in the past 2 months. My unemployment has also run out. I am cleaning the dentist's office on weekends to help pay the dental bills, but this will not cover the cost of braces.
My husband left us a year ago and I am unable to find him or collect any child support or any money at all. We moved into a small apartment and had to move our dog and cat to a shelter. My parents live in another state, but are trying to help me with the bills from their fixed income. I've applied for jobs near where they live, but have received only rejection letters.
I have used most of my savings and am applying for any job that I qualify for, but so far nothing. I am starting to use credit cards to pay the bills and buy food. The schools have been working with us to get us reduced lunches, but, without an official divorce document, creditors are unwilling to work with me and are calling me more often for payments.
Please, if you can contribute anything, I can at least make credit card payments and start to get out of debt. I do not smoke, drink, or use illegal drugs and we do most of our cooking at home. I am depressed, and my kids are very understanding, but are also angry about their father leaving and cannot understand this.
