| This entire crisis began last April. I have been caring for my aging mother since my father died in 2000. This past April she was told she had 6 months to live, so we took her home and promised her she could die there. She lives 30 miles from my home, and I drove there every day from April 23rd until the day she died, January 5th. We are a one income family, and this added so much financial burden on us. I didn't have a car so we had to buy one, so that added a car payment on our already tight budget. Then our car insurance went up, and I had gas expenses on top of that. We couldn't afford groceries, so we maxed out three credit cards just to pay for groceries. I have tried to find work, but I am 49 years old and have been out of the work force for 3 yers so employers are reluctant to hire me, especially when there are 100 young people looking for work. My husband has been working every day off and overtime just so we can pay the bills. We have nothing left to live on. My mother had life insurance, but only enough to pay for her funeral. I need about $13,000.00 to pay off my car, and the credit cards so we can again afford to make it from check to check. I'm not asking for millions, just enough to get us back on track and able to pay our bills. I asked God for a sign, I am desperate right now. This web site came up so I'm taking this as a sign.
