Hi, I never thought I'd be doing this. I am a single mom of 3 children, ages 21, 18 and 9. I have been putting my oldest kids through school and worked as a medical editor and teacher for years. My medical editing job has been outsourced and my teaching job due to budget cuts has been cut as they are closing one of the elementary schools. I have no more savings and am now finding myself in dire straits and asking for help. I have no family to ask and have no idea if this works but I'm desperate. My dad passed away 4 months ago and the kids' dad is not in the picture and hasn't been for years. My oldest wants to become a physician's assistant and my middle daughter is in the sports management program, and I want to help them succeed, not have to pull them out of school.
First of all, if I can't pay my rent of $2100/month I will have to move (3rd move in 1 year) but I am trying to give my youngest some stability and keep her in the school she is used to. I also still owe some tuition, so to catch up I would need $10,000.
Also, I just put my 13 year old dog to sleep which has been more turmoil for my kids and me, and my 2 year old lab/shepard mix needs an operation as she was born with her knees popping out of joint. The cheapest I've found for this through the vet schools is $1800 for each leg for a total of $3600. If I can't get this done I will have to put her to sleep also.
I just need a break- I have worked hard all my life and never thought this would happen to me. God bless you if you can help me with anything. I just want to show my kids that they can accomplish anything they want, and I never want them to end up in this position I find myself in now. |
