Help me reclad and fire proof site

Hi donors, I am Kev staying in a large apartment (or condominium) complex called Queens Lodge here in Auckland, New Zealand. It has about over 300 units and is, I guess, about 26 years old. This complex is starting to have maintenance issues such as leaky balconies, paint flaking here/there, bad cladding etc. Yes, blinking Apartments or condominiums as in US are beautiful places when first built and are exciting places when one first move into them from the moment it is completed. And Yes it may look nice in advertisements and/or pics. But over the years it can be a maintenance pain both financially and emotionally, especially the bloody costing side of maintaining the external side such as walls, roofs etc. I accept any dwelling has maintenance cost and/or issues. Next time (if any) i will move into a cheap retirement village, but will be a low maintenance site too eh.
Lately our sister apartment Kings Lodge next door had a fire in their basement and luckily got smoke damaged only and from then on our Body Corp, which manages the day to day running of the site started invoicing people who owns the outer external units in which i reside (there are units located internally too) for US$9145 to fireproof the cladding and the bloody insurers also want fire sprinklers install too. I sometimes have a fear the council may even evict us because of earthquake risk/issues one day.
I just turned 60 and it is starting to affect my financial/mental wellbeing. I cannot get employment to cover this new expense because of ageism and also cannot sell, as the price of this place is pointing south because of this. Also the place is under my elderly father’s name and he has dementia and is quite hard to communicate to him now, Phewee..
