Can anybody help me pay my rent? I’ve hit rock bottom.

Hello! I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart, seeking assistance during a challenging and unprecedented time in my life. I lost my job in September, and while I have been diligently searching and attending interviews, the prolonged period of unemployment has taken a toll on my financial stability.
I recently found myself unable to cover my basic living expenses, including rent and utilities. Despite applying for unemployment benefits, the assistance provided is only enough for support food for my dogs and myself. At this point, I have not been able to pay my $2,900 rent, which is now past due, and will incur a $75 late fee after 5 days. My electric, internet and water bills are also passed due, and all three services are slated to be disconnected at any moment. My situation has forced me to prioritize paying for my living expenses over my other outstanding debts, including my student loans and credit cards, one of which has now gone to collections.
Quantifying all these issues fills me with a tremendous amount of shame. I genuinely feel like it is too much to ask; therefore, it all I’m asking is for any help with my rent. Still, I fully understand that nothing is guaranteed. I appreciate you even considering my case!
Despite the severity financial situation, I am actively seeking employment opportunities and remain committed to regaining financial stability, and I am happy to share that the journey is going well. Currently, I have been getting a higher volume of call backs and interviews for jobs I have applied for. I had 3 of them yesterday, alone! This is the most active my job search has been, and the odds are very promising, so I am optimistic that with God’s grace, I will have a job again within the next few weeks. |
