I started college late in life as I still believed I had so much left to offer. It was my senior year and I was to have 2 huge milestones graduating with honors with Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management Services and turning 50. Well, that's when covid hit and put me in the hospital. I worked really hard and finished my courses online but became heartbroken and depressed that I could not walk the line that I had dreamed of my whole adult life. Covid attacked my heart giving my Tacacardia and then my lymphatic system causing my legs (not my top half of my body) to expand to about 150lbs each. I can no longer pivot to my wheel chair and am completely bedridden. I went from being a caregiver to begging people for adult diapers as they are $20 a bag. I have hit bottom and I'm begging for a hand up. if I can raise enough money, I can be transported to Nashville for my tumors to be removed and Rehab to learn to walk again. if I survive, I would like to ask my college to let me walk the next graduation line. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. |
