Wrongfully accused/Trying to rebuild

Bookmark and Share

Hello,

First off thank you for taking the time to read my story. It is most appreciated. Here is my story.

About two years ago I was arrested for a crime I did not commit. I was walking down the street when two police officers approached me, they said I fit a description of a suspect wanted for murder. I asserted my rights and refused to speak without an attorney present. At that point I was arrested.
At that point in time, I was doing pretty well. I had some savings and a job that paid pretty good. Then I was arrested.
So now I am in police custody being questioned about something I had no clue of. I asked for my phone call so I could call for a lawyer. They decided to sweat me for a few more hours before letting me make my phone call.
I finally get to meet with my lawyer after 48 hours. We look over the case and I tell my lawyer that I have proof I was nowhere in the area when this crime occurred. The prosecutor despite the proof I had decided to prosecute. I was offered plea agreements many times, and I refused every time. After finally getting the DNA and location evidence into court all the charges were dropped, even though the prosecutor was reluctant. He had tried to stop the introduction of my evidence.
All charges were dropped after about 18 months. I was lucky enough that I had enough savings and able to get some loans to pay for the lawyer.
So that is my story of why I am here asking for your help. This is other side of innocence. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for my freedom and appreciate it very much. I'm just asking for your help. If you can in anyway help out it will be appreciated very much.

Thank you for your time.
